The Halo SleepSack is available in a variety of colors and fabrics, including cotton for warm temperatures and fleece and micro fleece for the bundling-up climate. Dressing baby in a cozy SleepSack for a stroller ride or trip in the car seat eliminates the need for bunchy blankets or restrictive layers, allowing baby to freely move his arms and legs.
Bill Schmid, an engineer and father of four, designed the SleepSack after losing his 9-week-old daughter to SIDS in 1991. In the years following, he immersed himself in the latest medical research available on SIDS and among other innovative developments, designed the patented SleepSack wearable blanket. It now carries the recommendation seal from the SIDS Alliance as a safe alternative to unsecured crib blankets, as it lowers the risk of entanglement and re-breathing carbon dioxide, considered possible causes of SIDS.
Under the auspices of Halo Innovations, Inc., hundreds of Halo SleepSacks have been donated to organizations across the country dedicated to the care of at-risk infants, and a percentage of HALO Innovations' profits are donated to the SIDS Alliance to fund ongoing SIDS research, education and family support.
