Fur Coats – Mens Mink Fur Coat
Fur coat fans take note: It's not your mama's mink anymore! Men as well as women are enjoying that touch of mink, but the look of mink is changing with the times. The trend in fur fashions today is to use the luxury pelts as fabric. That's right: designers are shearing it, dyeing it, and even knitting it to make it lighter and easier to wear year round!

Younger, hipper fur and shearling coat styles include pelts in shades of sky blue, lemon yellow and lime green - artificially colored, of course!
Fur designers are tanning the leather side of mink, thus eliminating the need for a lining, Innovations in design include using a burn-out technique to give mink fur the look of ornately cut velvet.
Couture designers may be sticking with mink, but popular retailers among the mall set – J. Crew, Express, Banana Republic, to name a few - are featuring fashion-dyed rabbit fur jackets and accessories appealing to young shoppers with hefty allowances.
Traditionalists take heart, though – classic fur coats and jackets haven't lost their footing on the fashion ladder –icons with the status of a Rolex or Rolls, time-tested fur fashions aren't heading south anytime in the next century.
Shorter fur styles are typically casual and contemporary, as easy to wear with ankle-length skirt as stonewashed jeans. Long mid-knee, or ankle-length silhouettes are dramatic and opulent, perfect to wear over a formal gown or in the case of a man's dress coat, over a tuxedo. But let's face it - when you're wearing a luxurious fur coat, it doesn't matter much what you've got on underneath!
Of course, when you're talking generally about a fur coat, you're talking about a mink. Mink coats made in the United States from ranch-raised animals account for nearly 80 percent of all coats sold. A woman's first (or only) fur coat is almost always a mink – and why not? Apart from its fashion longevity, she knows that if properly cared for, her investment will likely outlast her cars, her house and maybe even her husband!
Today there is a mink to fit almost every budget, size and gender – whether it's boxy jacket, a full-length swing coat, a mink car coat or a knitted mink boa. But there are a few guidelines to follow before making that all important fur purchase:
First, decide how much you want to spend, or can afford to spend, on your fur purchase.Second, research various furs and their attributes, how they are rated and how the coats are constructed. Visit several fur salons and try on a fur coat or jacket to learn about the feel and weight of fur. Third, buy the best fur you can afford – if a good mink is out of your range right now, opt for top notch sheared beaver or similar less costly fur.
For that touch of mink, or if you're able, sable, invest in a beautiful fur coat
