A Men's Winter Down Parka
Men and boys stay warm on the winter slopes in their warm down parkas. Their parkas are designed for the most part for durability and for a specific activity, unlike women's parkas of which 50 percent are designed for style.

Retailers of men's and boy's parkas are noticing a strong movement towards the purchase of jackets that are all weather and multi-purpose. Waterproof shells that can be worn as everyday rainwear and over layers of slope clothing for winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding are very popular.
Versatility and performance (staying dry, breathable, not tearing, fabric strength) are highly sought after traits in a parka by men and boys seeking a rugged and challenging winter sport experience.
Down parkas are a favorite for men and boys who like to get out in the cold weather. Columbia, North Face, and McMurdo all produce the prized outerwear in parka styles.
Snowboarders' parkas have often been made in different muted colors distinguishing them from other winter athletes. Historically, snowboarders have worn darker colors but recently they have been choosing more colorful parkas that are a bit more form fitting. There is a general move in the design of men's winter slope wear towards more body-hugging jackets.
Men's parkas have a variety of features depending on the brand. Many desirable features include: a water resistant, waterproof, laminated shell of nylon or cotton and nylon, and goose down insulation that protects in sub zero temperatures. Insulation materials ranges from polyester to Polartec fleece to Thinsulate.
Adjustable cuffs, snap off hoods, stowable hoods, and a zip front with storm flap as well as draw cords at the waist and the bottom of the parka are all practical features. Many parkas have extra length at the back to keep pants dryer. Some have chin flaps for warmth and polyester fleece zip out liners for versatility. Features like welded internal seams and bonded storm flaps and pockets make parkas even lighter and windproof. Most parkas are layered over other clothing. Some have side zippers for ease of movement. Velcro closures are convenient at the cuff. Men and boys have a lot to choose from in the parka marketplace.
