Velour Robe - Men's and Women's Velour Bath Robes
Soft, warm velour robes look great and feel great too. Versatile cotton velour is absorbent, and much more durable than traditional velvet. It is one fabric that looks just as good as a warm and cuddly robe as it does as a pair of pants.

Velour robes have become as popular for women as they have for men. Not your traditional terry cloth , velour adds a richness to the everyday robe. Most robes make you look as though you just stepped out of the bath. But the soft lines and rich colors of velour robes have an almost sophisticated look.
I wouldn't suggest putting on a string of pearls and a pair of heals and going out on the town in your velour robe. Even so, a smart looking velour robe will make you feel like you could.
Where did velour come from? " Velours " is the French word for velvet. It can be made from any of several fabrics, but is identifiable by its pile or napped surface resembling velvet. "Cotton velour", which is the type used mostly for robes, is simply cotton velvet. It is the cotton that gives the material the absorbency needed to be a good robe, as well as the durability.
You can find a velour robe at any department store or sleepwear specialty store. Shopping on the internet, however, will give you the largest selection and most competitive prices. But wherever you find your velour robe, you are sure to enjoy it, and look good in it, for many years.
