White tuxedos are not recommended for most weddings. The exception to this rule is if your wedding will take place in the tropics in the summer. They are fashionable for proms if your date is not wearing white. White baby and child size tuxedos are available, in fact, quite common.Other formal events allow white tuxedos, so if you are looking for a white tuxedo.
Follow these ideas to make a white tuxedo work for your occasion:
- White, regular length jacket with a white vest and black trousers.
- White, regular length jacket with grey vest, black tie and black or grey striped trousers.
- White jacket with black trim, black vest or cummerbund and black trousers.
- All white jacket and pants, grey vest and black tie.
Baby and young children's white formal wear is commonly available. Baby boy's tuxedos are a perfect outfit for his christening. White tuxedos are available for older children but the right occasion is more difficult to find. Weddings would require the child to dress similar to the rest of the wedding party, which is more likely to be in black.
A tuxedo shop may have white tuxedos, either for rental or purchase. A package can be found as well, which will include the jacket, pants, shirt and tie. Be prepared to rent dress shoes, vest or cummerbund, cufflinks or studs, and other required accessories. Some packages include one or more of these items, but do not assume what is included. The package contents do vary between retail store outlets.
