SWAT teams en route to a site have transit time to suit up in their tactical gear, but ease of getting the vest on is critical in any event, so research that aspect and determine your specific needs before selecting an exterior vest.
Concealable, or discreet tactical vests are available in standard colors that may match a regulation uniform or suit, making it less apparent to criminals that you are a law enforcement officer. A concealable vest can be sized for wear underneath a suit coat or blazer, with interior pockets to hold equipment.
