Inositol side effects are very rare, but they usually include gas and nausea, which should go away within the first few days. The interaction with inositol and pregnant or nursing women is not known, so do not take these supplements if you are pregnant or nursing.

Before taking any supplement, consult your doctor, especially if you have diabetes, cancer, or heart disease. Inositol can interfere with the body's absorption of certain chemicals, and may cause a bad drug interaction.
