What is Xenadrine?

There are thousands of weight loss supplements in the world, but few have the results that Xenadrine does. Xenadrine is a thermogenic weight loss supplement, which means it raises the body temperature, helping to burn calories in the process.

In studies, Xenadrine has proven success in helping with weight loss, particularly if used in conjunction with a balanced diet and exercise. In one study, people using Xenadrine lost 524% more fat and 729% more weight than the people in the placebo group lost.

In recent years, Xenadrine has discontinued its popular formula Xenadrine RFA-1, which contained ephedra. Although ephedra has been used for hundreds of years in Native American and Asian cultures, it proved to be harmful when used as a weight loss supplement, causing many heart problems, which ultimately led to its ban in 2003. This was caused in part by the high concentrations of ephedra found in weight loss products.

Xenadrine's new formulas, Xenadrine NRG and Xenadrine EFX , are ephedra free, but they should still be used with caution. Although thermogenic weight loss supplements do help reduce weight in the short term, many studies show that the body builds up a tolerance to them, making it seem like you need to take more to have the same effect after taking a daily dose for a period of time.

After a period of about four to six weeks, thermogenic weight loss supplements seem to stop working. Rather than raise the dose, which could cause long term harm, it's better to discontinue use for a short time, perhaps a couple of weeks, and then resume a daily dose rather than to increase the dosage and risk dependence and heart disease.

Common side effects from Xenadrine include anxiety, lightheadedness, frequent thirst, sweating, upset stomach and nausea, cramps, increased or rapid heartbeat, and restlessness, roughly the same as the side effects from drinking too much coffee, which comes as no surprise because of the caffeine found in Xenadrine products. Some people also report spots appearing on their skin. This is caused by an ingredient called Tyrosine, a stimulant that is found in melanin production. The spots vanish when Xenadrine use is discontinued.

Very few people report side effects when using Xenadrine. If you have bad reactions to caffeine, or are worried about side effects, try starting with a half dose, or using a different type of weight loss supplement or bodybuilding supplement, such as CLA or whey protein.
