Metal gates for doors are typically made out of steel, and relatively inexpensive. Two varieties are popular: a steel mesh gate and a folding steel gate. The steel mesh gate remains in the doorway, similar to a screen door, providing security and visibility.
The folding steel gate retracts to one side of the doorway, pivoting 180 degrees out of the way. Either type of gate can be installed to open from the left or right. Most include a steel locking bar to provide additional security.
