Intex Chlorine Generator - Easy Set Above Ground Pools

An Intex chlorine generator effectively purifies your pool water using table salt. If your skin dries out in chlorinated water, your blonde hair develops a greenish tinge or you simply do not want your children exposed to smelly chlorine, the chlorine generator is a great addition.

Above ground pools require antibacterial agents to ensure water is clean. Even with the best intentions, children often swallow pool water. Algae growth is another problem with pool water. Intex chlorine generators prevent any problem from making your pool disgusting.

How the Intex Chlorine Generator Works

As water flows into the above ground swimming pool’s chlorine generator, an electrolyte cell changes sodium into a safe, odorless form of chlorine. Intex chlorine generators ensure the pool water resists algae, bacteria and viruses.

An Intex chlorine generator is fully programmable. Set the timer for one hour or leave it on all day. Smaller swimming pools only require the chlorine generator to run an hour or two a day. Larger pools or those used frequently will need it on for longer.

After rainfall, run Intex chlorine generators to reach proper chlorine levels. In extreme heat, the chlorine generator may also need to run more often. It may take a few days to determine how long to leave it on, but the addition of a digital computer helps a lot.

A built-in digital computer system alerts you to incorrect sodium levels or blocked filters that slow the water flow. If you do not correct the item within a specific period, the chlorine generator automatically shuts itself down to prevent damage to the system.

Adding Salt to your Swimming Pool

Your Intex Chlorine Generator needs saltwater to work. Do not use salt that contains iodine. Iodine in table salt will give your pool water a yellowish appearance. Instead, purchase large bags of non-iodized salt at area home improvement stores or pool supply stores.

You need to add a 25-pound bag for every 1,000 gallons of water. Purchasing test strips from pool supply stores helps you get the correct sodium balance.

Once you have added the salt to your pool water, run your Intex pool pump for a full 24 hours. The salt must dissolve into the water before you turn on your Intex chlorine generator.
