How Intex Pool Filter Systems Work

Intex pools filter pumps suction water from inside the pool into the filtration system. Inside the filter pump is a cartridge with a fibrous lining that strains debris from the water. Once the water is purified, it returns to the pool.

Over time, dirt, grass and hair will clog the Intex pool filter cartridge. At this point, you can rinse it off for reuse or replace it. Rinsing a filter cartridge is okay for a couple weeks but for clean water, you will need to replace it within a month. If you run your swimming pool pump 24 hours a day, check the cartridge more often.
