An above ground Intex pool ladder supports up to 300 pounds. It’s best to use the ladder one at a time to prevent ladder collapse.
Assembling the Ladder
Follow the directions provided with your Intex pool ladder. Each ladder step needs the metal support pole pushed through it. This anchors the step to the legs and provides extra support for the plastic step. Use the fasteners to hook the portions of the legs and top rails together.
Always start with the bottom leg. This post is curved at the bottom and has a plastic end piece that keeps the metal post from tearing the swimming pool liner. Each post section attaches to one step using rigid fasteners. Once you have added the posts to the leg section, finish it with the U-shaped top rail and the upper platform if there is one. Not every ladder model has a top platform.
Once you have completed the Intex pool ladder, place it in a level area. You may need to put a board under the outside legs if your ground is sandy. Spreading the legs as far apart as possible provides stability when the Intex pool ladder is in use.
If a ladder feels loose or wobbly, try a different area. Ladders that are not level will wobble and potentially tip over. It’s a good idea to have someone holding the Intex pool ladder as others use it.
Maintenance Check of your Intex Pool Ladder
Once a month, check your Intex pool ladder for broken steps or broken fasteners. Replace as necessary. Also, check the posts for signs of rust. If there are rusty poles, Intexstore.com sells replacement legs and top rails. It is easy to replace these parts, and they help ensure your ladder never fails to support the weight of those getting in or out of the above ground pool.
