Chemicals vs. Salt Water Systems

With Intex round frame pools, you can opt for a salt-water filter system or traditional chlorine systems. Chlorine can dry out your skin, adds a green tinge to light blonde hair and fades swimwear. Salt water systems, while more expensive to purchase, work effectively and convert table salt into low-level chlorine that keeps water clean.

The Intex salt water system includes a digital readout that tells you when your pool water needs attention. This makes it easy to maintain. Chlorine systems require you to use test trips and carefully monitor the swimming pool’s PH and chlorine levels to keep water clean.

Benefits to Skimmer Systems

To keep water in your round frame pool clean, you must remove bugs, leaves and other debris from your pool. A handheld skimmer net is extremely helpful, but the mesh often allows things like sand or dirt to slip through.

Pool mounted skimmer systems attach to the water output straining insects and debris floating on the surface of the water. They cannot catch items that sink to the bottom of the above ground pool.

Make the Most of your Cover

Check the Filter

Intex recommends changing your filter every two weeks. If you use a cover and keep your round frame pool clean of insects and plant matter, you may be able to sneak away with a monthly filter change.

Once a week, you should use the spray nozzle on your hose to clean off the filter. This helps lengthen the life of the filter cartridge for your swimming pool.

Vacuum Frequently

At least once a month, use your Intex round frame pool vacuum to remove dirt and debris from the bottom of your swimming pool. There are ways to make the most of this process and kids can help!

Have your children walk slowly around the inside edge of the pool to create a whirlpool. Once the whirlpool is steady, have them get out of the pool. All of the debris will be in the center of the pool. Now use the vacuum and quickly suction it up. This cuts the amount of time you spend cleaning the round frame pool’s floor.
