Feng Shui - Hiring a Consultant
Because Feng Shui takes many years of arduous study to master, it is recommended that a person who is serious about Feng Shui décor hires a consultant. This can be a difficult process, but in the end, it could make a tremendous difference in the effectiveness of balancing the flow of Chi throughout the home.
Find, Compare and Buy Chimes
Feng Shui has become extraordinarily popular in recent years, and many companies have taken advantage by offering quick cures and one-day workshops promising to help with the flow of Chi. For serious practitioners of Feng Shui, improper placement and design can cause an increase in sha Chi, resulting in harm to the household and its occupants.
When hiring a consultant, it is important to keep the following questions in mind:
• What schools do they practice? If you are looking for a personalized approach, perhaps somebody educated in Pa-chai would be the best. For businesses, somebody educated in San-yüan may be the answer. Most credible Feng Shui consultants are educated in more than one of these schools. Make sure that their ideas mesh with your own. After all, they make the final decisions, but you have to live with them.
• How many years have they studied Feng Shui? What is their level of certification? Many consultants undergo an apprenticeship, so ask about the master who taught them, and what level of certification that teacher received. Some Feng Shui consultants have only attended brief workshops, sometimes only lasting one day. Make sure you are getting the most education and experience for your money.
• How do they practice Feng Shui? A Lo Pan which is a compass used to analyze all possible aspects of the space, should be used during the consultation. Do they ask for floor plans? Do they request your date of birth? A good Feng Shui consultant should do all of these things.
• Ask for recommendations from former clients. It should be no trouble for a competent Feng Shui consultant to provide these.
• Hiring a Feng Shui consultant is expensive. Ask what kind of services they offer for the fee. Be skeptical of consultants who claim they can fix your house with a few quick cures. Some consultants oversimplify Feng Shui, so be sure you're getting your money's worth, and not just someone who tells you your house will be fine if you hang a few mirrors and some wind chimes.
It is also extremely important that you educate yourself on Feng Shui. There are many books and websites available on the subject that can help in choosing a qualified consultant.
