Jamie Oliver Professsional Series Cookware Features
Jamie Oliver Professional Series cookware is a step up for T-Fal. The Metal-Safe Non-Stick line is a few steps better than T-Fal's other lines, and the Pure Stainless line is the company's first venture into naked metal.
Both of the Jamie Oliver cookware lines have polished 18/10 stainless steel exteriors and a heavy aluminum heat distribution disk on the base, encased in stainless steel. Lids are also polished stainless steel. Both lines are dishwasher-safe (unusual for a nonstick line) and, with stainless steel handle, they're also oven-safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
The nonstick Jamie Oliver cookware line is hard enough that T-Fal says you can use metal utensils in it (but you can't cut in it with sharp knives, of course); it also has Tefal's unique Thermo-Spot feature, a red disk in the center of the pan that changes color when the pan is preheated to 374 degrees, which the company claims is the ideal temperature for cooking.
Jamie Oliver cookware sets are packaged with a recipe CD. The T-Fal website offers a store locator as well as direct on-line shopping for either cookware sets or open stock pieces.
