Magnalite cookware is made of thick cast aluminum alloy. No frills, no nonstick coating to scratch, no glass lids to break, no baked enamel finish to chip. For anything that you can safely cook in aluminum, this stuff is great.
Advantages of Magnalite Classic Cookware
Magnalite cookware is best known for its great Art Deco roaster. This line of Magnalite cookware offers cast handles and is virtually indestructible. The stovetop pots have phenolic handles attached with screws; these are durable if you use the proper size burner for each pot. The line is warranted for 50 years, but 70-year-old roasters are still going strong.
Burnt, scorched food? No problem. Attack these Magnalite cookware pans with whatever abrasives you've got. There's no finish to damage. Heck, put a grinding wheel on them if you have to. But putting them in the dishwasher is not recommended, as the harsh dishwasher detergents will pit the surface eventually.
Magnalite is a World Kitchen, Inc affiliate. World Kitchen's other household names include the Corning cookware brands CorningWare, Pyrex, and Corelle; EKCO and their Baker's Secret; Revere cookware; Olfa; and Chicago Cutlery.
