Rival cookware started manufacturing innovative kitchen appliances in the US 1932 and went electric in 1950. The company makes a wide variety of useful electric cookware, much of it unique.
Rival cookware offers choices of electric stock pot, electric roaster ovens, deep fryer, griddle, fondue pot, rice cooker and steamer, waffle maker, sandwich maker, toaster, kettle, skillet, and a stainless steel electric wok. The company also (still) makes can openers, electric knives, food slicers, hand mixers, and Seal-a-Meal.
The Rival deep fryer is rectangular in design instead of the more common round shape. One deep fryer model has a permanent grease filter; the other deep fryer has replaceable charcoal and foam filter cartridges.
The Rival roaster oven comes in 8-quart and 20-quart models and is suitable for roasting, baking, and cooking.
Rival cookware joined in 1999 with Holmes (electric fans), White Mountain (ice cream freezers), and Bionaire (air purifiers); but they retain their separate brand identity and continue their strong tradition of developing improved and new products for the kitchen.
