Boys Camps – A Summer Camp for Boys
Your son will learn a lot about himself at a boys camp. Participating in a summer camp offers the chance to strengthen character and take on challenges without the unavoidable distraction that comes with the presence of the opposit.
Boys camp programs are organized to help young men and boys explore new activities in a safe, structured environment and offer opportunities for exciting experiences that might not present themselves at home or in school.
An all boys' camp promotes a spirit of camaraderie and brotherhood, and helps youngsters cultivate leadership and team skills.
Most boys' camps have a primary focus, offering specialized training in a particular sport or physical skill, or educational programs in science, math, computer and writing skills. Many all-boy programs are centered on outdoor camping experiences, such as a wilderness or adventure program, or traditional camp.
Boy Scout camps are a longstanding traditional camp experience and much anticipated every scouting year. Classic skills, activities and adventures are coupled with a "leave no trace" camping objective that promotes leaving a camping area in its original condition.

Sport specialty camps are increasingly co-ed, but many still offer all-boys programs, particularly in male dominated sports like high-school wrestling, football and baseball.
Rarely is a day camp geared just for boys, but many residential camps offer a program, often in a quasi-military format. A regimented program of leadership development, physical fitness, and academic study are typical aspects of this type of all-boys camp, which may also feature a focus on Christian education and principles as well.
Many camps are geared for teenage boys who need, or may be seeking, a structured, "boot camp" experience to build self-discipline and uphold a sense of personal accountability. When researching a camp of this nature, discuss the options with school counselors and other guidance professionals, who may be able to provide valuable insight as to what your son may gain from such an experience.
