Usually the fees include a filing fee of $100 to $200 and a service fee of upwards of $100. the amount you pay is generally dictated on the time you are willing to wait for your company name change to take effect.

In the State of Illinois, you can file online, but you must have originated and operate your business in Illinois. The LLC name change process must be authorized by the company's main officer. Laws will vary from state to state, but most states stick to these restrictions.

Your LLC name change is not effective until the state approves the amendment. Once this step is complete, a certified copy of the LLC name change will be sent to you.
