CompTIA A+ certification and sponsor companies' interest in you

Bottom line interest for sponsor firm is both preserving as well as expanding market share, in order to build shareholder value through share price appreciation on the major stock exchanges of the world, and to avoid being the "prey" in a hostile takeover bid situation, which fast moving technology firms and their Wall Street investment bankers love to undertake.

Consistent with other forms of venture capital investing, IT certifying firms tend not to receive full recovery of their direct costs for underwriting CompTIA A+ certification boot camp training or for providing and score-verifying CompTIA A+ certification exam results.  Although a money drain and not developed as a stand-alone profit center, the CompTIA A+ certification programs are a necessary variable expense undertaken by the certifying firms such as Microsoft or Novell in order to create and sustain operating system brand loyalty in the market place and in order to increase sales and revenues and market share for their marketing and sales organizations.

As an example, the direct costs to the IT certifying firms to design a new and customized CompTIA A+ certification test for local delivery may exceed $100,000 and where every technical question may reflect an internal development cost of $500.  Tests related to strategic hardware and software may have minimal market application, therefore are clear financial "losers" for the IT certifying firms, however remain a necessary cost of business.

Meanwhile, what are the economics for the CompTIA A+ certification course candidate?   By maintaining CompTIA A+ certification training qualifications, IT professionals responsible for network engineering and/or administration look to their personal current earnings as a guide to the efficacy of why and how to take CompTIA A+ certification exams.  The typical male IT candidate will have 8+ years of IT experience, will have undergone previous certification upgrades, will be in the 45 - 52 age bracket and be earning upwards to $63,000 annually in the USA and European markets in particular, with variances in salary levels in the 136 countries were CompTIA A+ certification and/or other certifications are offered.  Australian averages at $44,000 compare with Brazil at $17,000 to France at $39,000 or Germany at $48,000 to India at $15,000 as an example of the local pay differences for CompTIA A+ certification training.  Women with comparable a+ computer certification earn approximately 3% less than their male counterparts for doing the same IT work.  No matter which way the gender issue cuts, the overall industry effect is that IT professionals will experience about 15% net increase in salary earning power by completing CompTIA A+ certification testing successfully.
