Leupold binoculars are marketed to three target groups – people engaged in birding and observation of nature, people involved in hunting and shooting sports, and military and law enforcement people who need optics for tactical operations.

However, the products Leupold (pronounced LU–pold) offers to each group are subsets of the same two product lines. So if the field conditions you encounter while birding or hunting are as rough as those the US Marines encounter in a war zone, you have access to the same equipment they use.

The two lines of Leupold binoculars, spotting scopes, and riflescopes are Golden Ring and Wind River. Wind River is the lower–priced (but definitely not cheap) line. Leupold combines nearly a century of experience in designing and building fine optics with an active program of seeking customer input, so they can design products with the features their customers want.

Binocular models range from a compact 8x23 to a full–size 10x50, at prices that range between about $100 and about $600. Leupold also offers a laser rangefinder, zoom spotting scopes (15–45x60), and numerous riflescopes.
