Meade binoculars are good quality (perfectionists need not apply) at moderate prices, with none over a few hundred dollars, although the telescope-based spotting scopes are higher.

Meade binoculars are aimed primarily at birders, naturalists, and amateur astronomers, who in turn aim them primarily at birds, other natural subjects, and the night sky (a little binocular humor to make sure you're paying attention).

Models range from 4x30 ultra– compacts through 16x50 full-size binoculars. One of the compact (27 mm) zoom models goes from 14x to 70x! The larger of two spotting scopes is 125x. Meade offers four models of digital camera binoculars.

The meade.com web site offers user manuals, support, and technical advice, in addition to a dealer locator. Meade products are sold primarily in camera stores and hobby shops.
