Garden Torch - Light the Night with Outdoor Propane Torches

Illuminate dark spaces in yards and patios with decorative garden torches. Historically, torches illuminated castle hallways. Torches have changed over the years, no longer fuel soaked rags tied onto sticks, but the principle remains the same.

Find, Compare, and Buy a Garden Torch

A garden torch is fueled with lamp oil, propane, or solar power. Garden torches have a pointed end that pushes easily into your grass lawn or garden space. Move them from one area of the yard to another with ease. Because they are freestanding, they easily relocate. This is especially helpful if your gathering is moving from one location to another during the evening.

Propane Garden Torches

Propane garden torches connect to a one-pound propane canister. Typically, one pound of propane provides eight hours of flame. The lighting from a propane garden torch is not overwhelming, but generally provides enough light for a fifteen-foot square area. Space the torches no more 20 feet apart for optimal lighting.

Usually, the propane garden torches are the more expensive option, but their quality is sublime. In addition, some find that the scent of propane attracts mosquitoes making it easier for you to enjoy a bug-free evening.

Lamp Oil Garden Torches

Most of the garden torches sold online or in stores have containers at the top that hold lamp oil. The wick threads through the cap and screws onto the top of the container to keep rainwater out. Benefits to an oil-filled garden torch include:

Garden Torch

· Cost-effective
· Fill with lamp oil or citronella oil
· Vast selection of designs
· Wicks are replaceable

Because you can use citronella oil in garden torches, bug control is a snap. Mosquitoes and other biting flies hate the scent of citronella reducing the risk of itchy bites.

The Ease of Solar

Solar garden torches have become affordable options and are simple to use. They require no additional purchase of oil or propane and use no electricity. Simply place them where you want them and the sun does the rest. Light from the sun charges the batteries. When night falls, the LED bulbs light up casting bright light on the surrounding area.

There is a downfall to solar energy. If you live in an area where sunlight is limited, solar garden torches might not work effectively.
