The machete is a tool for many farmers and explorers around the world. Because of its sharpness and weight, a machete can be used to clear heavy grasses, like bamboo, harvest crops, like sugar cane, and even cut down small trees.

Machetes have been used for years to clear shrubs and trees to make hiking trails, a good tool for people who hike in the wilderness or hunters who want to go deeper into the forest to track game.

Machete
There are several different designs of machetes, including single edged bolo machetes, double edged machetes, cutlass machetes, and kukri machetes. They also can measure anywhere from six inches to two feet, and sometimes even longer.

Popular machete brands include the Cold Steel Bolo Machete, which had a "weight forward" design that makes it perfect for chopping small trees and cutting back foliage. It is 22 inches long, with a blade length just over 16 inches, perfect for cutting through thick forest with minimal arm strain.

There are also a wide variety of machete knife sheaths available to make carrying the machete easier. A machete sheath can be made from plastic, reinforced nylon, or leather. It is important that the material is durable enough to safely hold the machete, and weatherproof to avoid corrosion.

The machete sword has developed as a combination of the long sticks used by natives to clear paths through the forest and the swords used by European explorers. They are designed to clear forests with the effectiveness of an axe, but allow it to be done with one hand.
