Used Snow Blowers - A Used Snow Blower a Cheap Alternative ...

Begin searching around and even if you have to take an old used snow blower and rebuild its engine you are still going to end up spending less than you would on a brand new one.

You may think that you will be limited to the older models, or ones no longer in fabrication, but you'll be surprised to find this is not true. Most manufacturers that discontinue a model, do not discontinue the parts so that they can still service their past customers. If you find a discontinued model for the right price, check with the company's inventory before buying.

Many people buy snow throwers that are too small for their needs and sell the small one for money towards a bigger one ... or vice versa. You are sure to find a cheap used snow blower that suits your needs if you look in all the right places. Check your classifieds, or even check personal advertisements in areas that get more snow than average.

You are probably wondering if the snow throwers are cheap if the price is right, and you have every reason to wonder, but most likely these machines are being sold by someone who no longer has the drive to get out there and plow their drive ... that does not mean the product is of lesser value than a brand new one.

Buying any outdoor power equipment is a large investment, but you will be amazed to find prices that fit your budget when looking into used snow blowers. You will find the biggest brand names used, from John Deere to Ariens, Lawnboy to Simplicity, you will find a pre-owned beauty. Every type is available used from single stage electric models, to the largest two stage gas powered models. Small horsepower engines to the brawnier engines.

Want to save yourself some money, and save your body from shoveling exertion, then a used snow blower should be in your future. Winter will be more fun than you ever dreamed.

Gas or Electric?

Another thing to consider when buying your snowblower is: do you want an electrical start model or gas? This is only an option with the single stage models. Many customer reviews state that they prefer the electric start because they are more convenient and easier to use in colder temperatures. Gas is recommended for how the machine is powered ... only because this eliminates the need for extension cords and the risk of running them over. Severing an electrical cord can lead to injury ... and costly repairs.

Two Stage Snow Throwers

There is little difference between the single and two stage snow throwers ... but the difference lies in how the machine collects and throws the snow, and contact with the ground. Two stage throwers augers do not contact the surface where a single stage does. They ride on a metal plate called a skid. The skid determines the clearing height. Since this height is adjustable they can be used on any surface ... if you have a gravel driveway or walkway you will want a Two Stage Snow Blower. The two stage snow blowers are better for larger areas, since their clearing path is wider. In comparison, a two stage is much larger, and will require more storage space than a more compact single stage, but customer reviews say they wouldn't want any less.
